To become an EMT in the state of Kentucky, there are certain requirements that an individual has to go through.
- Applicants must complete the EMT application.
- Applicants must be 18 years old or over
- Applicants must have completed high school with a diploma or acquired a GED
To become certified as an EMT or Paramedic, you must go through the approved training that the state of Kentucky requires. The most important thing, though, is to successfully pass the National Registry Certification examination for EMT’s and Paramedics. This NREMT examination is both written and practical.
An Emergency Medical Technician, with training, will learn how to assess and stabilize the injured or sick person and safely transport the patient to the hospital.
