Alabama does give credence to the National Registry Examination (NREMT) specifically for EMT certification. However, the state of Alabama approves specific EMT training facilities to provide the practical examination for licensure. There are two kinds of EMT training in the state of Alabama:
- Basic training program
- Paramedic training program
